The Priory of St. Catherine as a household in the SCA is based on similar principles of the historical Compagnia di San Luca founded in 1339 in Florence to bring together all the artists in the city. That group still exists as the Accademia Nazionale di San Luca in Rome.
The following are statutes that provide the framework for the way our household operates.
I. Membership
- Sponsorship
- Each member may sponsor one potential member at a time.
- Trial period
- Potential members will be accepted into a trial period of at least two camping events over six months to (typically) one year.
- Voting
- Each potential member will only be admitted to the Priory if there is unanimous decision to offer membership.
- The unanimous decision is based on all posted votes within a predetermined timeline.
II. Procedures
- Priory Encampment
- Priory members must to obtain group permission to have non-members and potential members camp in our encampment.
- Children (dependents of permitted campers) may also camp with the Priory but must remain under the guardian’s care.
